EU capital needs press freedom

The journalists group IFJ questions Brussels’s suitability as EU capital.

EUobserver reports that Aidan White, Secretary General of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), is not so sure whether Brussels is the right place to host (most of) the European Union institutions — due to Belgium’s poor legal protection for journalists. (Interestingly, server logs show that my postings on the Tillack raid had a number of visitors from the .eu.int domain.)
