Tillack raid: OLAF director blamed

Der Spiegel talks with a member of OLAF’s Supervisory Committee.

The search of the Brussels Stern office — the Tillack raid — may take a different turn, it seems: According to Der Spiegel, the European Anti-Fraud Office OLAF may have overstepped its authority. That’s at least the opinion of Harald Noack, one of the five members of OLAF’s Supervisory Committee. Noack believes the committee should have been consulted before proceeding against Stern correspondent Tillack and calls it a very serious issue. I would expect OLAF director Brüner’s response to be that it was a Belgian police raid. The Monday edition of Der Spiegel will carry an interview with Noack.
